Advocacy Day sponsored by Georgia Equality: sign up here
People living with HIV live, work and thrive in every legislative district across our state, but many state lawmakers are unaware of the issues that affect our diverse community. This event will provide a free training on how to educate state legislators at the Capitol on HIV policy. Following the training, we will stand united under the Gold Dome to put our training into action. Attendees will have an opportunity to talk one-on-one with their representative in the House and Senate (don't know who your legislators are? No problem– we'll bring this information to you!). We will educate elected officials on issues like HIV criminalization, HIV education, HIV prevention/care funding, healthcare access, LGBTQ rights, racial justice and reproductive justice.
Following our time in the Capitol, we'll reconvene for lunch, debrief, and a panel discussion on HIV/AIDS policy under the Gold Dome.
Training and a light breakfast and lunch are provided to all attendees.
